Job Title: Paramedic Profession: Paramedic Specialty: Paramedic Duration: 8 weeks Shift: Evening Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours (3 shifts per week) Experience: Three years of full-time experience in a 911 system preferred License: Paramedic license in state of practice required Certifications: - Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required - Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required - Emergency Vehicle Operator Certification (EVOC) or equivalent preferred - Valid Driver's License required Description: Provides emergency care in the pre-hospital environment. Delivers advanced-level medical care, including evaluation, treatment, and stabilization of the ill and injured. Possesses a comprehensive knowledge base to diagnose and provide care for a broad range of medical emergencies. Responds to calls for emergency medical assistance, such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation or bandaging a wound. Assesses a patient's condition and determines a course of treatment. Provides first aid treatment or life support care to sick or injured patients according to accepted medical practice standards. Creates individualized care plans based on patient presentation, adhering to issued standing orders and department policies. Administers oral and intravenous medications. Intubates patients or performs surgical airway insertion as necessary. Places catheters for venous access, such as central venous lines. Conducts emergency medical classes as requested. Performs other job-related duties as assigned. Commits to the safety and wellbeing of associates and patients. Requires all associates to receive all required vaccinations as a condition of employment and annually thereafter, where applicable.
