As the region’s only Accredited Chest Pain Center and Certified Advanced Primary Stroke Center, Sovah Health provides comprehensive emergency and specialty care, including advanced cardiac services, oncology, surgical services, wound care, and 24/7 emergency medicine. Located in the charming River District along the Dan River, Danville offers beautiful parks, historic downtown attractions, and is just 45 miles north of Greensboro, North Carolina.

 

Travel Requirement: Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates.

 

Position Details

  • Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week

  • Weekend Requirement: Rotating weekends as needed

  • Float: As needed

 

Unit Information

  • 31-bed Emergency Department
  • 2 Triage Rooms
  • 7 designated Behavioral Health/Acute Care rooms
  • Patient Ratio: Typically 1:4 (may vary based on patient acuity and department volume)
  • Patient Population: All ages
  • Electronic Medical Record:
    • MedHost (Emergency Department)
    • Meditech (admit holds and extended behavioral health patients)

 

Requirements

  • Active RN license
  • Minimum of 5 years of Emergency Department experience required
  • Candidates with both ED and ICU experience are strongly encouraged to apply
  • BLS required
  • ACLS required
  • NIH Stroke Scale certification required
  • PALS or ENPC required
  • Handle With Care certification (provided on-site)
  • Professional, compassionate, positive team player with excellent critical thinking and communication skills
