Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ED RN for a 13-week travel assignment requiring prior travel nursing experience and independent telemetry interpretation skills.

Details

  • Emergency Department at a hospital featuring 96 inpatient beds, six operating rooms, two procedure rooms, labor and delivery with special care nursery, a 20-bay infusion clinic, and a 12-bed ICU/acuity adaptable unit
  • General Emergency Department treating combined adult and pediatric patients
  • Day shift schedule of 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM)
  • Required to work every other weekend and every other holiday
  • Travelers are first to float
  • Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

  • Active RN license (any state or compact) currently in hand
  • Current certifications: BLS and ACLS required; PALS required; TNCC strongly preferred
  • Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department experience required
  • Previous travel nursing experience required
  • Must be able to independently read and interpret telemetry
  • Epic charting experience preferred
  • Previous charge experience preferred
  • 2 years of experience preferred

Additional Information

  • Provide emergency care across a wide range of conditions including pediatrics, psychiatric emergencies, trauma, respiratory, neurological, and cardiac cases
  • Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and administration of emergency medications including vasopressors and sedatives
  • Experience with 12-lead EKG interpretation, dysrhythmia management, and cardiac monitoring
  • Familiarity with isolation precautions, PPE, and triage protocols
  • Ability to manage and apply splints for orthopedic trauma cases
  • Must reside more than 100 miles from the central facility location to be eligible for this position
  • Maximum of 10 days RTO allowed per contract, with no RTO permitted during the initial weeks of the assignment
  • Attendance policy: more than one call-off may result in termination; no call/no show results in immediate termination
  • Former OhioHealth employees must have a 366-day separation from employment before returning as a traveler
  • PRN employees may not accept travel assignments while actively employed PRN
