Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position in Massachusetts, requiring a permanent MA RN license and at least 2 years of ED experience.

Details

  • Work setting is a hospital Emergency Department with a psych holding area on the unit
  • Nurses are expected to float between two hospital campuses (Leominster and Clinton)
  • Patient ratio is 1:5
  • Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
  • Every other weekend and holiday coverage required
  • Schedule is based on unit needs; block schedules cannot be accommodated
  • Shift flexibility required — must be able to start up to 4 hours before or after scheduled start time based on critical department need
  • 48-hour shifts accepted
  • No on-call requirements
  • Charting is performed in Epic

Requirements

  • Active, permanent MA RN license required
  • Minimum 2 years of ED nursing experience required
  • Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
  • Two professional references required, at least one must be from a Nurse Manager or higher
  • Candidates must reside more than 200 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates
  • Active nursing license must be free of any prior disciplinary actions

Additional Information

  • Well-rounded ED nursing skills are expected, including comfort working in a department that includes a psych holding area
  • Pass/fail testing at orientation for telemetry/EKG and medication competencies
  • RTO (time off) requests in July are unlikely to be approved unless limited to 1–2 days
