American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring EPIC experience and a minimum of three years of relevant nursing experience.

Details

  • Work in the Emergency Department of a hospital setting
  • Day shift schedule from 11:00 AM to 11:30 PM
  • 36 hours per week over 3 shifts at 12 hours per day
  • Every other weekend shift required
  • Rotating holiday shift coverage required
  • 2 call shifts required per 6-week schedule period, with call shifts lasting 13 hours and an expectation to be onsite within an hour of being called
  • A 2-week night shift rotation is required for all travelers
  • No block scheduling available
  • Uses EPIC EMR system

Requirements

  • Active Illinois RN license in good standing required
  • Minimum of three (3) years of relevant nursing experience required
  • ASN required, BSN preferred
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS (American Heart Association)
  • TNCC highly preferred
  • EPIC charting experience required
  • Trauma Level 2 or higher experience preferred

Additional Information

  • Serve as a professional caregiver responsible for a designated group of ED patients throughout the shift
  • Perform initial patient assessments and develop individualized plans of care in collaboration with providers, patients, and families
  • Implement and modify nursing interventions and care plans based on ongoing patient assessment
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation to support care coordination among the healthcare team
  • Uphold patient and staff safety standards, including reporting and correcting safety hazards
  • Collaborate with team members and provide constructive feedback to support professional development
  • Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for consideration
  • RTO not to exceed 7 total days during the 13-week contract
  • This position is classified as a high-risk department assignment
