Job Title: Sonographer
Job Summary:
Prepares patients for examinations with a focus on comfort and satisfaction. Explains procedures in simple terms, performs ultrasound procedures, and alleviates pre-testing anxiety. Monitors patients throughout the process, ensuring proper images are obtained and studies are thorough. Reviews prior reports, images, and patient charts. Maintains records, logs exams, and manages inventory and supplies. Performs additional related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Experienced Sonographer with expertise in high-quality Adult Echo studies following ASE & IAC Guidelines.
- Minimum of 200 documented inpatient echocardiography cases.
- Proficiency in valvular assessment, spectral Doppler, and Pedoff skills.
- Experience with contrast echocardiography and agitated saline studies.
- Ability to work independently, recognize abnormalities, and respond to critical findings.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Registered Cardiac Diagnostic Medical Sonographer with ARDMS or CCI.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from AHA.
Preferred Qualifications:
- TEE and Stress Echo experience.
- Familiarity with 3D echo imaging.
- Experience with TAVR, Mitral Clip, Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy, VAD, and closure device protocols.
- Maintaining ICAEL-accreditation echo lab standards.
- Experience using Philips ie33 and Epiq systems.
- Familiarity with Epic hospital information system.
- Graduate of CAAHEP or ABHES Cardiovascular Technology Program.
