Job Title: Echocardiographer Profession: Echo Technician Specialty: Contract Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: Minimum 3 years of Echo Tech experience License: Current Registry status preferred Certifications: Not specified Must-Have: 3 years of Echo Tech experience Description: The Echocardiographer is responsible for acquiring and interpreting m-mode, 2-D, pulse and continuous Doppler, and color Doppler echocardiograms. The role includes performing contrast echocardiograms and stress echocardiograms, and completing echo worksheets. Staff members are responsible for the care of adult and geriatric patients. Each staff member will rely on their past experiences, as well as their professional training, to meet standards of care. Staff training will be reinforced through continuing education required to maintain current registry status. Training includes video/digital presentations, seminars, and conferences addressing cutting-edge technology. Maintaining a high degree of professional ethics and conduct is essential. Familiarity with the technical operations of ultrasound equipment is required. The role includes performing all related diagnostic duties and patient care functions. Assessments on adult and geriatric patients must consider their physiological and anatomical needs. Informing patients about the procedures and explaining each step is a crucial requirement. Assistance is provided to Cardiologists during procedures. Staff members are responsible for charting all exams in patients' medical records. Equipment must be cleaned and maintained regularly. The assigned room should be kept clean and well-stocked with supplies. Assistance is provided to students and fellows during their on-the-job training. Mandatory continuing education is required to enhance professional growth. Skills: Current registry status is preferred. At least 2 years of experience as an Echocardiographer is preferred. Ability to lift up to twenty (20) pounds routinely throughout the shift is necessary. Physical abilities include standing, walking, sitting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, bending, stooping, squatting, twisting, reaching, and handling. Patient lifting, ambulation, and transfers of patients in wheelchairs and on gurneys are part of the role.
