Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Rehabilitation Manager to lead and oversee rehabilitation therapy services within a comprehensive senior care program. This leadership role is responsible for coordinating rehabilitation operations, managing therapy staff, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting the delivery of high-quality rehabilitative care for elderly participants.

The Rehabilitation Manager will provide operational oversight for therapy services, including physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy programs, while supporting strategic planning, staffing, budgeting, and program development. This position combines clinical expertise with leadership responsibilities to ensure exceptional participant outcomes and team performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and oversight for rehabilitation therapy programs and services
  • Manage rehabilitation department operations, staffing, scheduling, and workflow processes
  • Supervise rehabilitation personnel and support professional development initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with all rehabilitation practice standards, PACE regulations, and state and federal requirements
  • Oversee contract management and coordination of speech therapy services as needed
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support participant-centered care plans
  • Assist therapists and participants in coordinating treatment programs and appointments
  • Conduct home visits as necessary to oversee therapy services, equipment setup, and participant care
  • Support business planning, budgeting, and departmental performance improvement initiatives
  • Monitor quality outcomes and implement strategies to improve service delivery
  • Communicate regularly with leadership regarding staffing, operational needs, and program development
  • Serve as a clinical resource for rehabilitation staff and interdisciplinary team members

Requirements

  • Bachelor s Degree in Physical Therapy or Occupational Therapy
  • Active California Physical Therapist (PT) or Occupational Therapist (OT) License required
  • Minimum five (5) years of rehabilitation experience
  • Experience treating frail, elderly, or geriatric populations with complex medical needs
  • Strong knowledge of rehabilitation regulations, therapy standards, and clinical best practices
  • CPR and First Aid certification required within 180 days of hire
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced healthcare environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two (2) or more years of rehabilitation leadership or management experience
  • Experience supervising Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy teams
  • PACE, Adult Day Health Care (ADHC), outpatient rehabilitation, or senior care experience
  • Budget management and strategic planning experience
  • Experience leading interdisciplinary healthcare teams

Ideal Candidate

  • Licensed PT or OT in California
  • Minimum five years of experience working in a geriatric rehabilitation setting
  • Minimum two years of experience supervising rehabilitation teams
  • Strong leadership background with experience managing therapists and support staff
