Travel Dialysis Tech - $27 to $29 per hour in Janesville, WI

We are seeking experienced and compassionate Dialysis Technicians to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidates must possess current Dialysis Technician certification along with active CPR/BLS certification. The Dialysis Technician will provide specialized direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and will be responsible for initiating, monitoring, and discontinuing dialysis treatments while ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the procedure.

The candidate must maintain a professional appearance, behavior, and communication style while delivering high-quality patient care in a dialysis setting.

• Provide direct patient care during dialysis treatments under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
• Initiate, monitor, and discontinue dialysis treatments according to established protocols.
• Prepare and maintain dialysis equipment in collaboration with the Biomedical Team.
• Follow and apply infection prevention and control protocols related to dialysis biomedical equipment.
• Perform daily and intermittent water room checks to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
• Conduct monthly water room disinfection or additional disinfection as required by testing results and parameters.
• Maintain accurate documentation regarding equipment status, repairs, testing results, and regulatory requirements.
• Interview patients and collect assessment data prior to treatment.
• Measure and record vital signs including manual blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and weight.
• Prepare patient treatment stations including dialysis machines, chairs, and necessary supplies.
• Enter treatment data into dialysis machines and treatment records.
• Clean and disinfect dialysis machines and treatment areas post-treatment.
• Cannulate patient vascular access and safely remove needles upon completion of treatment.
• Perform dialysis catheter care including accessing, flushing, and heparinizing catheters.
• Prepare heparin for catheter flushes as ordered.
• Collect laboratory specimens and prepare samples for testing.
• Perform machine, water, and dialysate safety checks.
• Conduct LAL, water, and dialysate sample collections for testing and compliance monitoring.
• Monitor vascular access and document findings accurately.
• Maintain inventory and order dialysis and medical supplies as needed.
• Participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives, education, and training programs.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare staff.
