Job Title: Cytotechnologist Profession: Laboratory Specialty: Cytotechnology Duration: 13-26 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 Hours (07:00 - 15:30) Experience: Minimum 3 years required License: Active state license required Certifications: ASCP-CT required Must-Have: Experience in outpatient laboratory Experience with non-gynecological specimens, including ascitic fluid, esophageal, gastric, spinal, and thin-prep Experience with bronchial specimens Experience in body fluid tests, particularly urine Skills in fine needle aspiration, including assistance, making smears, preliminary diagnosis, and staining Experience with special stains, particularly PAP staining Knowledge of quality control and assurance in a laboratory setting Ability to assist with on-site procedures and ensure proper specimen labeling and identification Description: Open to later start dates. Position is available for a duration of 13 to 26 weeks. Candidates with a minimum of 3 years of experience are required. First-time travelers are accepted. No weekend requirements. No on-call requirements. Clinician will not float within scope to meet facility needs. Block scheduling is not applicable as the schedule is Monday to Friday. Local candidates are accepted without radius limitations. Candidates must meet fingerprinting requirements prior to compliance. Experience in outpatient lab settings is essential. Required skills include ascitic fluid, esophageal, gastric, spinal, and thin-prep experience. Bronchial skill/experience is necessary for respiratory tract samples. Body fluid test skills must include urine analysis. Candidates must assist with fine needle aspiration procedures, including making smears and preliminary diagnoses. Experience with PAP staining and other special stains/organisms is required. Knowledge of quality control and assurance is essential, along with specimen labeling and identification skills. Cytology lab preparation experience is mandatory. This role is in an acute care hospital environment. Teamwork and collaboration with interdisciplinary support are expected. Candidates must be prepared to work two out of three major holidays. All candidates must confirm accuracy of requested time off and start dates. Demonstrated ability to secure housing and timely compliance with all requirements is necessary.
