Job Title: Cytotechnologist Profession: Technologist Specialty: Cytotechnology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Monday-Friday Hours per Shift: 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM Experience: 2+ years of Cytotechnologist experience required License: Must be registered as a Cytotechnologist through the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (CT-ASCP) or with an International Accreditation (CT-IAC) Certifications: Active American Society of Clinical Pathologists (CT-ASCP) or International Accreditation (CT-IAC) certification required Must-Have: Bachelor's degree in a Science-related field or a Master's degree in a Science-related field if the Bachelor's degree is in a non-science related field Description: Screen pap smears and non-gynecological slides and report results according to established protocol. Review patient history in association with screening cytology slides. Document workload and submit weekly reports for review. Review discrepant cases with Pathologist to improve quality patient care. Maintain a False Negative Proportion (FNP) of 1-2% of the lab average but do not exceed a 5% overall FNP. Maintain an 80-100% Diagnostic Correlation with the Pathologist. Maintain gyn statistical analysis rates of 5% as compared to the laboratory's overall rates. Maintain individual workload limit as set forth by the supervisor/director, derived from the employee's 6-month performance appraisal. Complete special assignments as designated by the supervisor in a timely and professional manner. Assist with Fine Needle Aspiration (FNA) adequacy assessments throughout various procedure areas in the hospital.
