Job Title: Cytotechnologist Profession: Technologist Specialty: Cytotechnology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: 2+ years of Cytotechnologist experience required License: Must be registered as a Cytotechnologist through the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (CT-ASCP) or registered with an International Accreditation (CT-IAC). Certifications: ASCP certification required Must-Have: Must have a Bachelor's degree in a Science-related field or a Master's degree in a Science-related field if the Bachelor's degree is in a non-science related field. Experience with ROSE/FNA adequacy assessments is highly preferred. Previous travel experience is highly preferred. Description: Candidates living within 60 miles of the facility will have a local rate. Responsibilities include screening pap smears and non-gynecological slides and reporting results according to established protocol. Review patient history in association with screening cytology slides. Document workload and submit weekly reports for review. Review discrepant cases with a Pathologist to improve quality patient care. Maintain a False Negative Proportion (FNP) of 1-2% of the lab average, but not exceed a 5% overall FNP. Maintain an 80-100% Diagnostic Correlation with the Pathologist. Maintain gyn statistical analysis rates of 5% compared to the laboratory's overall rates. Maintain individual workload limits as set forth by the supervisor/director, derived from the employee's 6 month performance appraisal. Complete special assignments as designated by the supervisor in a timely and professional manner. Assist with Fine Needle Aspiration (FNA) adequacy assessments throughout various procedure areas.
