Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU position requiring 2 years of PICU/CVPICU experience and an OH or Compact RN license.

Details

• Work in the Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU (CVPICU) of a pediatric hospital
• Night shift schedule, 4x12 hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:30
• 13-week assignment length
• Floating required to NICU, PICU, ED, stepdown, and MS units as needed
• Cares for complex pediatric cardiovascular patients including congenital heart disease/repair, post cardiac surgery, and post cardiac catheterization cases

Requirements

• Active OH State or Compact RN license required in hand
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of CVPICU or PICU experience required in a pediatric hospital setting
• 2 supervisory references required, with at least one from a manager/supervisor titled reference
• Skilled in respiratory care including ventilator management, ETT/NT suctioning, ABG interpretation, and management of acute airways
• Skilled in cardiovascular care including hemodynamic monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and interpretation
• Experience with IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, and PICC line management
• Experience with continuous sedation, IV vasopressors, and pediatric dosage calculations
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE protocols
• ECMO, CRRT, and VAD (LVAD/RVAD) experience preferred

• Provide specialized nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients with complex cardiovascular conditions
• Candidates must not have worked in a permanent role for the facility within the last 2 years
• Local candidates are not accepted for this position, and a 60-mile radius rule applies
• Floating to other units is a strong expectation and point of emphasis for this facility
• Attendance policy is strictly enforced, with no-call/no-shows resulting in warnings or possible termination
