Operating Room Open Heart (OR OH) in Saint Louis, Missouri. The role requires scrub and circulator experience with specialized cardiac surgeries, offering an opportunity to contribute to a leading healthcare provider's cardiac program.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Twelve-hour shifts, Monday through Friday, with 36 hours per week minimum.
- Required Qualifications: 2 years of experience in operating room nursing, with specific experience in open heart, thoracic, or vascular surgery; BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required; Missouri or compact state license in hand at time of submittal; experience with EPIC charting system preferred; no more than 7 days of requested RTO (Request for Time Off); no local candidates within 75 miles accepted; must have scrub and circulator experience, including complex cardiac procedures such as coronary artery bypass grafts (CABG), heart transplants, vascular, and transplant surgeries; recent trauma experience preferred; training in electronic fetal monitoring (EFM) is not required.
- Preferred Qualifications: BSN degree preferred, additional cardiac surgery certifications are a plus.
- Additional Information: The facility handles emergent cardiac, thoracic, and vascular cases with a multidisciplinary team, requiring rapid response and efficient instrument management. The unit maintains a patient census that varies, with a focus on acute care delivery. Equipment requirements include experience with transplant procedures, heart and lung transplant cases, and vascular surgeries. The department operates on a rotating schedule with on-call shifts as needed, and successful candidate must be prepared to float within the service line to meet operational needs.
