Job Summary
Operating Room (OR) Nurse in Louisville, Kentucky. This position involves working in a surgical environment with a focus on vascular procedures including CABG, AAA, valve replacements, TAVRs, and Heart and Lung transplants. The role emphasizes circulating experience, chest tube management, Foley catheter placement, and AED familiarity within a busy OR setting. The schedule consists of day shifts with a 12-hour shift cycle, and the assignment is scheduled to start on 08/17/2026.
Job Details
- Schedule: Day shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid RN license, BLS and ACLS certifications, at least 2 years of circulating experience in a CVOR setting, and 2 years of dedicated CVOR tech experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: Proficiency with OR equipment such as Bovie, tourniquet, harmonic, OR beds, stretchers, robotic experience (Da Vinci D5 preferred but not required).
- Support within the Department: Managed by a supervisor, with 1 RN and 1 tech covering all cases.
- Technology/Equipment: Cerner Electronic Medical Record system, Plum ICU Medical IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing system, and unit-specific equipment including Bovie, tourniquet, harmonic, OR beds, stretchers, and robotic systems.
- Additional Information: Orientation includes a full week for NEO or a combination of 3 days 06301900, 4 days 06301700, or 3 days 10302300 shifts. The unit operates on a flexible schedule with weekend rotations, on-call responsibilities with a 40-minute response time, and holiday shifts based on unit needs. RTO approval is required from management. Scrub color is Ceil Blue, with free badge-access parking available.
