Job Title: XR/CT Technologist Profession: Diagnostic Imaging Specialty: Radiologic Technologist, CT Technologist Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Weekend Nights Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 3 years License: Current ARRT Radiography registry Certifications: Current ARRT CT registry, Current AHA BLS certification for healthcare providers Must-Have: Experience performing both X-Ray and CT exams Ability to work independently during weekend night shifts Basic computer skills, including experience with electronic health records Strong communication, critical thinking, and patient care skills Description: This position involves supporting the Diagnostic Imaging Department during weekend nights. The XR/CT Technologist will perform diagnostic radiographic and CT imaging procedures to assist in the diagnosis of disease and injury. This role requires independent coverage of both X-Ray and CT modalities while on shift. Responsibilities include performing quality X-Ray and CT imaging using proper positioning, technique, and protocols. The position involves reviewing provider orders for appropriateness and communicating with providers as needed. Administering contrast according to site-specific protocols is required when within the scope of practice. Documentation, including CT contrast consent documentation when applicable, must be completed accurately. Evaluating images for technical quality is essential. Effective communication with radiologists, providers, patients, and team members is necessary. Following radiation safety practices and using appropriate protective equipment is required. Transporting and assisting patients safely, including the use of wheelchairs, stretchers, and hospital beds, is part of the job. Maintaining confidentiality and complying with all relevant policies and procedures is expected. Assisting providers, other departments, and hospital staff as needed may be required. This position is performed in a hospital setting and may involve exposure to blood, bodily fluids, communicable disease, radiation, chemicals, and hazardous materials. The role requires managing physical demands associated with positioning, lifting, and transporting patients and equipment.
