Job Title: CT Technologist II Profession: Clinical Technician Specialty: N/A Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year preferred License: CT credentials required Certifications: AHA BLS Required Must-Have: - Graduate of a CAAHEP accredited educational program with an emphasis in a primary cardiovascular specialty. - Graduate of a JRCERT accredited educational program with an emphasis in a radiologic technology specialty. Description: Under general to limited supervision, this intermediate-level position accepts independent clinical and non-clinical duty assignments to deliver specialized cardiovascular and/or radiologic technology services. Services are provided to adult and/or pediatric patient populations to aid medical staff in the diagnosis, care, treatment, and surveillance of simple to complex conditions, defects, and/or diseases. Maintains the competencies required to perform essential duties and responsibilities of a Level I position. Utilizing intermediate-level professional knowledge, the technologist provides safe, high quality, efficient, and cost-effective patient-centric care and support services. Services are delivered under routine or emergent conditions in various care settings including inpatient facilities, outpatient physician practices, diagnostic/urgent care centers, and remote outreach clinics. Prepares patients for procedures and correlates clinical history with procedures ordered by physicians to be performed. Communicates and collaborates with patients, families, and other members of the multidisciplinary care team to achieve desired clinical outcomes and service expectations. Utilizes a variety of highly specialized imaging equipment and techniques to perform a diverse range of diagnostic, interventional, and/or surgical procedures. Conducts post-procedure reviews independently to confirm that all required study elements are completed, documented, and that technical quality is consistent with established protocols. Transfers images and data to appropriate archival systems, enters technical data/findings, and prepares studies for reporting by physicians. Performs operator-level quality control checks, cleaning, high-level disinfecting, and other user maintenance per manufacturer instructions and regulatory guidelines. Participates in continuing education, professional development, and research activities to maintain competencies and promote continuous improvements in care and treatments. Provides instruction and mentors less experienced members of the team. Prepares and presents in-service training pertinent to the assigned service area. Performs quality assurance and performance improvement tasks as assigned. Displays initiative, effort, and commitment toward completing assignments efficiently. Demonstrates ability to work independently and prioritize clinical or non-clinical assignments with limited direction. Requires core to intermediate-level knowledge and understanding of normal and abnormal anatomy and physiology as related to assigned specialties. Ability to maintain accurate records and work accurately with names, numbers, and codes. Must be able to multi-task and remain calm in stressful situations. Exhibits a high level of professionalism and sensitivity toward patients' physical and psychological needs.
