Job Requirements
  • Education Requirements: Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Wisconsin
  • Certifications Requirements: BLS, NRP, intermediate or advanced fetal monitoring certifications
  • Experience Requirements: At least 2 years of Obstetrics (OB) nursing experience, including postpartum and labor & delivery care
  • Other Requirements: Ability to handle all aspects of postpartum care, strong communication skills, and flexibility to adapt to unit needs

Job Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive obstetric nursing care to women during labor, delivery, and postpartum, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
  • Monitor fetal heart rates and progress cervical exams using fetal monitoring and other clinical assessments.
  • Administer medications such as magnesium, Pitocin, and epidurals, managing related patient responses and side effects.
  • Support postpartum patients with breastfeeding education, newborn care, and discharge planning, ensuring a smooth transition home.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including OB/GYNs, anesthesiologists, and lactation consultants, to deliver patient-centered care.
