Position Overview

Job Title: Clinical Laboratory Scientist

Salary Range: $980.00 - $1,260 per shift (base gross), based on a 36-hour schedule (3x12-hour shifts); equivalent to $70.00 - $90.00 per hour.

Department: Clinical Lab

Available Shifts: Per Diem - Day shift

Key Responsibilities

Each professional in this role is responsible for conducting only those waived, moderate, or highly complex tests authorized by CLIA, as per Business & Prof. Code Section 1204. The individual must demonstrate a level of skill that aligns with their education, training, and technical expertise. Specific duties include:

  • Overseeing section operations and evaluating staff performance
  • Ensuring the accuracy of test results and adherence to quality control standards
  • Maintaining compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements
  • Managing quality assurance, policies, and procedures
  • Conducting laboratory tests using both manual and automated techniques
  • Assisting with equipment maintenance and ensuring operational efficiency
  • Collaborating with medical staff and leadership as a technical resource
  • Completing additional tasks as assigned
Qualifications

Education, Experience, and Training

  • ASCP certification or an equivalent credential is required.
  • A minimum of one year of clinical laboratory experience is necessary.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in chemical, physical, biological science, or Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited institution, or other educational qualifications as specified by CLIA.
  • A current and valid California State License is required.
Compensation Transparency

Our organization provides competitive pay, with an estimated compensation range for this position being $70.00 to $90.00. This estimate is specific to California and has not been adjusted for other locations. The final compensation offered will be determined during the hiring process, taking into account various factors such as skill set, relevant experience, education, credentials, and licensure.
