Position: Delivery Room Technician $$SN$$
Location: Johnson City, New York
Shift: Nights – 8-hour shifts (40 hours/week preferred; possible 12-hour shifts)
Duration: 13 weeks
Job Duties
• Maintain sterile technique and aseptic practices while supporting surgical procedures in the Delivery Room/Operating Room environment.
• Assist surgeons and clinical teams with gowning, gloving, draping, instrumentation, sutures, and other surgical needs.
• Anticipate surgeon requirements for instruments, supplies, equipment, and procedural support.
• Maintain an organized sterile field by keeping instruments clean, accounted for, and properly positioned.
• Perform accurate sponge, tape, needle, dissector, and instrument counts throughout procedures.
• Prepare surgical cases by assembling supplies and equipment according to preference cards and identifying potential issues before procedures.
• Assist with patient safety checks and identify potential equipment, chemical, or environmental hazards in the OR.
• Handle and identify surgical specimens according to established policies and procedures.
• Assist with suturing, retracting, and suctioning under surgeon direction.
• Support efficient room turnover between procedures while maintaining safety and infection control standards.
• Collaborate with OR staff and serve as a resource for new team members when needed.
• Document and perform additional duties as assigned.
