Assists the surgical team in the preparation of surgical procedures in the operating room. Prepares surgical cases by creating and maintaining a sterile field, retracting and passing instruments, supplies and medications to surgeons during cases. Performs a variety of technical skills, including the maintenance of supplies.This department includes all functions related to operating room services, including intraoperative patient care. It also may include perfusion services, inpatient and/or outpatient services, and other operating room support functions. It does not include PACU, anesthesia functions, pre op holding, and/or central sterile functions. If your department is operating as a combined department with all surgery services combined, please notify FP&A and we can map it to "Surgical Services Combined Without Anesthesia" to provide you with an appropriate benchmark.
