Job Title: CST/ORT Profession: CST/ORT Specialty: OR Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 06:00-16:30 Hours per Shift: 10 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Certification is mandatory Certifications: BLS Must-Have: Must have CVOR experience and 2 travel assignments. Description: Certification is mandatory. Must have CVOR experience and 2 travel assignments under their belt. No exceptions. The facility is licensed for 815 beds. Recognized nationally for providing high clinical quality year over year. Achieved an "A" grade for patient safety. Received Magnet Designation for nursing excellence. Serves as the region's referral center for Level II trauma, comprehensive strokes, and neonatal care. The facility is the busiest robotic surgery program in the Carolinas. Provides open heart and interventional cardiology procedures. Earned a three-star rating for patient care and outcomes. Unit specifics include patient ratios of 1:1. Staff consists of RNs supported by management and other staff. Types of equipment includes monitoring systems and ultrasound devices. Documentation system utilized is Cerner. Scheduling is Monday to Friday. On-call requirements may include staying late 1-2 times a week. Floating policy includes working within scope of practice and experience. Critical care experience is a must. Pre-operative experience is a plus. Requested skill set includes excellent documentation and critical thinking skills. Advanced skills needed include large-bore IV starts, medication administration, and patient transport to OR. Assistance with induction, intubation, positioning, and skin prep is required.
