Job Title: CVOR Tech Profession: Surgical Services Specialty: CVOR Tech Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: 1+ year License: Pending License not accepted Certifications: BLS, NBSTSA Must-Have: - Successful completion of a Surgical Technology program or Surgical Technologist training in the U.S. Armed Forces - Call requirements will be discussed during the interview - Experience with scrub and circulate duties - Certification with NBSTSA or NCCT accepted if previously employed as a Surgical Technologist Description: This position is for a CVOR Tech working days. Basic Life Support (BLS) and National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) certifications are required. Call requirements will be discussed during the interview. The shift is 4x10 hours with call responsibilities that include vascular and heart procedures. If fully staffed, call is expected to be 7 to 10 days, with weekends included. In the case of heart procedures, call could be 10 to 15 days with 2 weekends included. The more staff available, the less call will be required. Experience in various surgical procedures is preferred, including angioplasty, aortic aneurysm repair, and coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG). Knowledge of aseptic techniques, radiation safety, sharps safety, and specimen handling is essential. A thorough understanding of the universal protocol for time-outs is expected. The candidate should be familiar with special equipment and follow safety guidelines. This role involves working with adult and geriatric patient populations in a 5-room, 6-bed setting. Interdisciplinary support may include IV teams and radiology. Travelers must be qualified for tasks performed, and all competencies must be documented. Modules are billable and must be completed pre-start. Time for completing modules will be reimbursed.
