Staffing includes a board runner, charge nurse, service line coordinators, and ancillary assistance for room turnovers. Type of equipment includes Belmont, ESU, and positioning equipment. Documentation system used is Meditech Expanse. Scheduling requirements include CST from Monday to Thursday 7-4pm, and CST from Monday to Friday 7-3pm. Policy includes floating to main operating rooms. Position requires direct contact with patients, necessitating excellent communication skills and teamwork for problem-solving and issue resolution. Advanced skills required include scrub or circulate procedures, room setup, turnover, and obtaining disposables and instrument sets as indicated. Procedures performed on the unit include open-heart procedures, CABG, MVR, TVR, AVR, VATS, and vascular procedures.
