The position involves varied shifts with overnight call once a week. Staff is required to cover three weekend days per month. Candidates must possess a minimum of 2 years of cardiovascular operating room experience. The operating room is described as very busy and fast-paced. A strong competency in surgical techniques is essential. Candidates will be involved in various heart surgeries excluding thoracic procedures. Eight to ten surgeries are performed per day. Weekend call rotation is required once per month. The facility utilizes Cerner for charting. Overnight coverage by surgical staff is necessary. Floating to other facilities may occur, though it's rare. Orientation will involve 1 to 2 days in the operating room with a preceptor. Candidates are expected to have up-to-date certifications in BLS and ACLS. Candidates must have two references from the modality submitted.
