- Contract Length: 13 Weeks
- Shift: Day Shift
- Schedule: 4x10
- Experience Required: 1 Year
- Weekly Pay: $1950 to $2150
Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms with sterile instruments, equipment, and surgical supplies before procedures
- Maintain a sterile field throughout surgical procedures
- Assist surgeons by passing instruments, supplies, and equipment during operations
- Perform sponge, needle, and instrument counts before, during, and after procedures
- Prepare, inspect, and maintain surgical instruments and equipment
- Anticipate the needs of the surgical team to ensure efficient workflow
- Assist with patient positioning, preparation, and transfer before and after surgery
- Handle surgical specimens according to facility policies and procedures
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention, sterilization, and patient safety standards
- Collaborate with surgeons, registered nurses, anesthesia providers, and other operating room staff
- Assist with room turnover and preparation for subsequent surgical cases
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program
- Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential preferred or required per facility policy
- Minimum 1 year of recent Surgical Technologist experience
- Current BLS Certification required
- Experience in general surgery and multiple surgical specialties preferred
- Strong knowledge of sterile technique, surgical instrumentation, and operating room procedures
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to remain calm and organized in a fast-paced surgical environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
- Ability to stand for extended periods and assist during lengthy surgical procedures
