Basic Life Support (BLS), CRT (Cathode Ray Tube) Displays, Healthcare Providers, Hospital, Inventory Management, On Call, Outpatient Care, Patient Assessment, Patient Care, Patient Education, Physician Assistant, Quality Management, Respiratory Nursing, Respiratory Therapy
- Night shift, 36 hours per week (7:00 pm 7:30 am)
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call requirement
- Rotating holidays
- NRP certification required upon submission and hire
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited Respiratory Therapy program required
- Previous RT and patient care experience preferred (clinical rotations considered satisfactory)
Licensure/Certification:
- Current Massachusetts Respiratory Therapist license required
- RRT or CRT from NBRC required
- BLS healthcare provider certification required
- NRP certification required Job Summary (List Format):
- Provide a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory care services to inpatients and outpatients of all ages.
- Perform respiratory care procedures according to departmental and hospital policies.
- Evaluate, treat, and re-assess patients following physicians orders.
- Function independently and assist physicians and nurses with therapeutic modalities.
- Assist in orientation and training of respiratory and nursing personnel.
- Participate as a member of the Code Team and Rapid Response Team.
- Provide education to patients and their families.
- Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) initiatives.
- Engage in departmental education activities.
- Transport patients as needed.
- Assist the Director with special projects, equipment, and inventory control.
- Maintain and support patients rights to care, privacy, and respect.
- Perform other duties as assigned.W
