Key Responsibilities- Provide rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary treatment interventions to patients with cognitive and/or physical functioning disorders under the supervision and direction of a licensed Occupational Therapist.
- Administer rehabilitation procedures including ADL retraining, therapeutic activities, therapeutic exercises, modalities, and use of supportive and assistive devices.
- Assess and communicate patient progress to the supervising Occupational Therapist, adjusting treatment plans accordingly per regulatory and clinical practice requirements.
- Document all required clinical information in the electronic documentation system and accurately record treatment minutes per regulatory requirements.
- Provide consultation to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers regarding cognitive and/or physical disorders.
- Participate in required meetings such as patient care conferences, utilization review meetings, and rehabilitation meetings, as well as required trainings and in-services.
Required Qualifications- Active Missouri OTA State License or Registration (required).
- Minimum of 1 year of OTA experience, or completion of a Level II fieldwork experience (new graduates with Level II experience considered).
- Long Term Care (LTC) or Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) experience required.
- Adherence to NBCOT, AOTA, and state-required practice acts, code of conduct, and ethics standards.
Preferred Experience / Skills- Experience utilizing evidence-based practice to support clinical interventions in a long-term care setting.
- Familiarity with DME procurement processes and student supervision under the guidance of a supervising Occupational Therapist.
