Job Overview We are seeking a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) for a 14-week contract assignment in a skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility. The COTA will assist Occupational Therapists in delivering rehabilitation programs designed to improve patient independence, mobility, and daily functioning.
This role requires strong patient care abilities, teamwork, and the flexibility to support a high-demand rehabilitation environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Occupational Therapists with implementing individualized treatment plans
- Provide therapeutic exercises and rehabilitation support activities
- Assist patients with ADLs including dressing, grooming, and mobility tasks
- Monitor and document patient progress accurately
- Communicate patient updates and concerns to supervising therapists
- Maintain safe and organized therapy environments
- Support mobility, strengthening, and coordination exercises
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams
Requirements
- Active Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) license required
- Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program required
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or required by facility standards
- Previous skilled nursing or rehabilitation experience preferred
- Strong communication and patient care skills
- Ability to manage caseloads effectively in a fast-paced environment
