Job Overview

We are seeking a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) for a 14-week contract assignment in a skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility. The COTA will assist Occupational Therapists with rehabilitation programs focused on improving patient mobility, independence, and performance of daily living activities.

This role requires strong interpersonal skills, rehabilitation knowledge, and the ability to provide compassionate patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Occupational Therapists in implementing individualized therapy plans
  • Provide therapeutic exercises and functional activity training
  • Support patients with ADLs such as dressing, grooming, and mobility tasks
  • Monitor and document patient progress accurately
  • Communicate patient concerns and updates to supervising therapists
  • Maintain a safe and organized therapy environment
  • Assist with strengthening, coordination, and mobility exercises
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams

Requirements

  • Active Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) license required
  • Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program required
  • CPR/BLS certification preferred or required by facility standards
  • Skilled nursing or rehabilitation experience preferred
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to manage patient caseloads efficiently during shifts
