Job Summary (List Format) for Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA):
- Provide skilled support services under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT).
- Implement treatment plans designed by the OT to help residents regain independence in activities of daily living (ADLs) and improve functional performance.
- Assist with resident evaluations and contribute to documentation of functional status and progress.
- Deliver direct therapy services safely, compassionately, and effectively.
- Monitor, document, and report residents responses to interventions to the OT.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and communicate resident updates.
- Educate residents and caregivers on therapeutic exercises and safety techniques.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation in electronic medical records.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of adaptive equipment and assistive devices.
- Adhere to facility policies, CMS guidelines, professional standards, and ethical conduct.
