We're hiring a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant for a travel contract role at a hospital in Hot Springs, SD. Under the guidance of a licensed Occupational Therapist, you will help patients regain the skills needed for everyday life across long term care, outpatient, and inpatient settings. Minimum Requirements

  • Associate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited college.
  • Active COTA state license required to start the assignment in South Dakota or applicable compact privileges if recognized by the state.
  • BLS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross may be required.
  • Experience working under the direction of a licensed Occupational Therapist in at least one of the following settings: long term care, outpatient, or inpatient. Client requires demonstrated competence in implementing OT treatment plans.
  • Experience with activities of daily living (ADL) training and adaptive equipment recommended.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous travel therapy experience preferred.
  • Experience with documentation systems commonly used in hospitals and skilled nursing facilities preferred.
  • Additional certifications related to geriatric care, neuro rehab, or manual handling preferred.


Assignment Details

  • Shift: Nights.
  • Weekly hours: 40 hours per week.

Work alongside an Occupational Therapist to implement client-centered treatment plans that improve function and independence. The role involves assisting with assessments, carrying out interventions for ADLs, and documenting patient progress. You will practice under the direction of a registered Occupational Therapist and follow AOTA guidelines.
