We are hiring a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA/OTA) for a travel contract role in Oregon, MO at a skilled nursing facility. Under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist, you will provide rehabilitative and medically necessary treatment interventions to residents to help them regain functional and cognitive skills required for daily living. Applicants should be prepared to document outcomes, participate in care conferences, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited college or equivalent credential.
  • Active OTA/OTA license or registration. Compact license accepted where applicable.
  • Minimum 1 year of OTA experience required. Experience in long term care (LTC) or skilled nursing facility (SNF) is required.
  • Ability to practice in compliance with NBCOT/AOTA and applicable state practice acts.
  • Proficiency with documenting treatment minutes and clinical records in electronic documentation systems.
  • BLS certification may be required from AHA or ARC.
  • New graduates are acceptable provided they have Level II clinical experience rather than only Level I observation experience.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience providing ADL retraining, therapeutic activities, therapeutic exercise, and use of assistive devices in an LTC or SNF setting.
  • Experience participating in patient care conferences, utilization review, and rehabilitation meetings.
  • Experience supervising or supporting students under the guidance of an Occupational Therapist.


Assignment Details

  • Workdays: Monday through Friday.
  • Shift length: 8 hour shifts.
  • Start time requirements: Start time must be before 6:00 AM and no later than 10:00 AM. Times are flexible if consistent and communicated with Director of Rehab.
  • Weekend requirement: No weekends unless a holiday falls within Monday–Friday. If a holiday falls on a weekday, hours can be made up on the weekend.

Impacting Patient Care

Provide evidence-based OTA interventions under the direction of an Occupational Therapist. Duties include ADL retraining, therapeutic activities and exercises, modality application as appropriate, documentation of treatment minutes and outcomes, communication with the supervising Occupational Therapist and interdisciplinary team, participation in required meetings and trainings, and assistance with DME or supply needs per clinical requirements. Maintain professional conduct and adherence to regulatory and clinical practice requirements.
