Job Overview We are seeking a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) for a 14-week contract assignment in a skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility. The COTA will assist Occupational Therapists in delivering rehabilitation services that help patients improve mobility, coordination, and independence with daily activities.
This position requires strong patient care skills, adaptability in a fast-paced rehab environment, and the ability to provide compassionate therapy support.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Occupational Therapists with implementing individualized treatment plans
- Provide therapeutic exercises and functional activity training
- Support patients with ADLs including dressing, grooming, and mobility tasks
- Monitor and document patient progress accurately
- Communicate patient updates and concerns to supervising OT
- Maintain safe and compliant therapy environments
- Assist with mobility, strengthening, and coordination activities
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams
Requirements
- Active Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) license required
- Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program required
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or required by facility standards
- Skilled nursing or rehabilitation experience preferred
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to manage patient caseloads effectively during shifts
