Job Title: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) – Long-Term Care (LTC)
Location: Newark, NY
Job Type: Travel Contract (13 Weeks)


Schedule:

  • Night Shift (5x8)
  • 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM
  • 40 hours/week
  • Every other weekend required

Job Overview: We are seeking a compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for a travel assignment in a Long-Term Care neurobehavioral unit. This role involves caring for residents with Alzheimer’s, dementia, Parkinson’s, and behavioral health conditions in a secure and structured environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, feeding, grooming, dressing, toileting)
  • Support ambulation, transfers, repositioning, and mobility
  • Monitor and record vital signs, intake/output, and patient condition changes
  • Provide dementia-focused and behavioral care in a secure unit
  • Maintain patient safety and infection control standards
  • Assist with hygiene care including bed baths, linen changes, and catheter care
  • Operate equipment such as wheelchairs, Hoyer lifts, commodes, and hospital beds
  • Collaborate with nursing staff and care teams

Required Qualifications:

  • Active CNA Certification
  • BLS Certification
  • Minimum 1 year of CNA experience
  • Comfortable working in a behavioral/dementia care environment
  • Willingness to float based on facility needs

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in LTC or dementia care
  • Knowledge of Alzheimer’s and behavioral health support
  • Patient transfer and mobility assistance
  • Infection control and PPE usage
  • Accurate documentation and reporting

Additional Notes:

  • First-time travelers are welcome
  • Must be patient, dependable, and adaptable to resident behaviors
