Job Title: Technologist Profession: Technologist Specialty: Cath Lab Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: Minimum of 1 year in Special Procedures or Cath/EP cases License: State Medical Radiologic License Certifications: ARRT or RCIS, ACLS, BLS Must-Have: Must have a minimum of 1 year experience in Special Procedures or Cath/EP cases. Must hold an active ARRT or RCIS certification. Must have active American Heart Association ACLS and BLS certifications. Must disclose any previous employment history in the profile. Description: Conduct specialized examinations in cardiac catheterization, peripheral vascular studies, and electrophysiology studies. Serve as a lead worker and resource to medical and clinical staff to ensure maximum utilization of capabilities. Collaborate with the intra-procedure team to provide safe patient care. Participate consistently in processes for patient identification and safety. Assist with the identification, preparation, draping of patients, and room preparation for routine procedures. Read physician's orders/protocols and communicate with physicians on protocols for routine procedures. Select equipment in accordance with protocols and standards to ensure patient comfort and satisfaction. Maintain and calibrate equipment, recording all preventive maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting as needed. Conduct maintenance on special procedures equipment and instruct technologists in equipment operation. Identify ways to improve work processes and improve patient satisfaction. Stay informed of the latest developments and trends in cardiovascular technology through seminars, workshops, and professional organizations. Maintain knowledge of applicable rules, regulations, and guidelines that impact cardiovascular technology. Revise procedures for special procedures equipment use and develop internal controls to ensure compliance with laws and regulations. Seek advice and guidance as necessary to ensure a proper understanding of requirements.
