Job Title: Technologist Profession: Technologist Specialty: Cath Lab Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 10 hours guaranteed Experience: Must have 1 year experience in special procedures or cath/EP cases License: State Medical Radiologic License Certifications: ARRT or RCIS, ACLS, BLS Must-Have: - Active ARRT or RCIS certification - Active American Heart Association ACLS - Active American Heart Association BLS - Must disclose any previous employment history in profile Description: Conduct specialized examinations in cardiac catheterization, peripheral vascular studies, and electrophysiology studies. Serve as a lead worker and resource to medical and clinical staff to ensure maximum utilization of individual and group capabilities. Collaborate with the intra-procedure team to provide safe patient care. Participate consistently in Universal Protocol and site marking identification when applicable. Assist with identification, preparation, and draping of patients, as well as room preparation for routine procedures. Read physicians' orders/protocols and communicate with physicians on protocols for routine procedures as necessary. Select equipment in accordance with the protocols and regulatory, statutory standards to ensure patient comfort and satisfaction. Maintain and calibrate equipment, initiating and recording all preventive maintenance procedures. Troubleshoot and report or seek repair to maintain equipment operability. Conduct maintenance on special procedures equipment and calibrate such equipment prior to each procedure. Instruct technologists in the operation of special procedures equipment as needed to ensure quality care for patients. Identify ways to improve work processes and enhance customer satisfaction. Make recommendations to supervisors, implement changes, and monitor results to support the department's overall goals. Stay informed of the latest developments, advancements, and trends in the field of cardiovascular technology. Attend seminars/workshops, read professional journals, and actively participate in professional organizations. Maintain certification or licensure and integrate knowledge gained into current work practices. Maintain knowledge of applicable rules, regulations, policies, laws, and guidelines that impact cardiovascular technology. Revise procedures for special procedures equipment use and develop internal controls to promote adherence to applicable laws. Seek advice and guidance as necessary to ensure proper understanding.
