Job Title: Cardiovascular Technologist Profession: Allied Cath Lab Tech Specialty: Cardiovascular Technology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Primarily Days with some late night and on-call/call per unit needs Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years of Cath Lab Tech experience License: Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or meet state requirements for grandfathering into Public Health law Certifications: BLS, ACLS, COVID vaccine card showing fully completed COVID series Must-Have: - 2 years of Cath Lab Tech experience - RCIS certification - BLS certification - ACLS certification Description: Cardiovascular Technologists assist with invasive cardiac procedures. They prepare the procedure room and sterile field for surgical procedures, including the setup of sterile supplies, instruments, and equipment. They anticipate equipment requirements during procedures and operate equipment while maintaining sterile instruments. Cardiovascular Technologists function in multiple roles within the procedure team, including scrub, circulator, and documenter/monitor. Good organizational skills are essential. Experience in Right Heart and Left Heart Hemodynamics, Cardiac Interventions, and Vascular Interventions is required. Mechanical circulatory support experience, including ECMO and IABP, is necessary. Structural heart experience is important. Critical care or cardiac experience is required. Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) certification is preferred through CCI or ARRT.
