Job Title: Cath Lab Tech Profession: Radiology / Cardiology Specialty: Cath Lab Tech Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 5x8-Hour Hours per Shift: 07:00 - 17:00 Experience: 1 - 2 years of Respiratory Therapy experience, or 1 - 2 years of Radiology technical experience, 2 years of Paramedic experience, or over 2 years of Critical Care or Emergency Department Nursing experience. License: BLS (CPR) - American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider Radiology Technologist - ARRT Radiology Technologist Registry, or Respiratory Therapist - Licensed by the North Carolina Respiratory Care Board as an RRT, credentialed by the National Board of Respiratory Care as an RRT. Certifications: ACLS, ARRT CI, ARRT R, ARRT VI, BLS, CCI RCES, CCI RCIS. Must-Have: Graduate from one of the following programs: Radiology Technology, Respiratory Therapy, Cardiovascular Technology Program, or appropriately recognized Paramedic Program. Graduates from a Cardiovascular Program are required to complete RCIS certification within three months of employment. Description: Assesses patients' medical history and current condition to prepare them for cardiac catheterization procedures. Prepares specialized equipment and monitors patients during procedures, ensuring safety and optimal outcomes. Maintains a safe environment, adheres to universal precautions, and utilizes personal protective equipment to minimize risks and ensure the well-being of patients and staff. Collaborates with the healthcare team, including physicians and technicians, to support smooth and successful procedures. Provides patient education and support before, during, and after cardiac catheterization lab procedures. Adheres to professional advancement program requirements and engages in ongoing education to promote professional growth and development. Mentors others to stay updated with the latest advancements in the field, leading to improved patient care and clinical expertise. Performs other duties as assigned.
