Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Cath Lab position at a short-term acute care teaching hospital, requiring at least 1 year of Cath Lab experience, Epic proficiency, and an active OR RN license.

  • Short-term acute care teaching hospital with 536 beds
  • Cath Lab unit supporting both diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures
  • 1:1 patient ratio
  • Day shift schedule, 4x10-hour shifts (7:00–17:00)
  • On-call required on both weekdays and weekends
  • Weekends are not routinely required
  • Travelers may be floated to sister facilities across the health system based on skill set and unit needs
  • Scrubs are provided for Cath Lab staff
  • Epic EMR experience is required
  • No parking fee at this facility

Requirements

  • Active OR RN license required; compact license must be in hand at time of consideration
  • Current certifications required: ACLS and BLS
  • Minimum 1 year of Cath Lab experience required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Teaching hospital experience preferred
  • Proficiency in core Cath Lab skills including: interpretation/management of dysrhythmias, procedural sedation monitoring, obtaining 12-lead EKG/ECG, sheath removal/monitoring, and administration of cardiac medications (antiarrhythmics, antihypertensives, vasopressors, thrombolytics)
  • Experience with cardiac procedures including: diagnostic and interventional catheterizations, PCI, left and right heart catheterization, and cardiac stent placement
  • A personal vehicle is required for this assignment
  • Must provide a minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty
  • SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Performs procedures across diagnostic and interventional Cath Lab settings, as well as special procedures including vascular, neurological, gastrointestinal, pulmonary, and genitourinary studies
  • Preferred skills include: cardioversion, circulating procedures, IABP placement/removal, Impella insertion, TAVR, vascular closure systems, and hypothermia protocol
  • Candidates who have previously worked at a Providence facility (as a permanent employee, traveler, or registry/per-diem) must disclose the location(s) and dates of employment
  • Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning to a Providence facility as a traveler
  • Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are accepted but may be subject to a different pay rate
  • Must commit to working 3 of the following 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
  • All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront; post-offer RTO may not be approved
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
