Description

American Traveler is hiring a Pediatric RN Case Manager requiring an active AK RN license and 2+ years of case management experience with Epic.

Details

  • ,Acute care hospital setting within the Case Management department
  • Pediatric patient population
  • Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, with start times ranging between 0700-0830
  • Every other weekend required, or 4 weekend days within a 4-week schedule
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Floating required within scope of practice to meet facility needs, including to affiliate hospitals nearby
  • Uses Epic EMR
  • Level II Trauma facility, Magnet-designated

Requirements

  • Active AK RN license required in hand
  • BLS certification preferred
  • ACM-RN certification preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of case management/utilization review experience required
  • Pediatric experience required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Acute care hospital experience required
  • Community hospital experience preferred
  • Trauma Level II experience preferred
  • 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
  • Copy of certifications required
  • Hep B vaccination required (titers or declinations not accepted)

Additional Information

  • Responsibilities include admission criteria review, care coordination, continued stay reviews, determining medical necessity per evidence-based guidelines, needs assessment, DME ordering, plan of care development, pre-certification review, prior authorizations, and worker's comp case management
  • Utilizes InterQual and Milliman guidelines
  • Familiarity with CMS, Department of Health, HIPAA, ICD-10 coding, and Joint Commission/Core Measures/National Safety Goals regulatory standards preferred
  • Experience across specialties such as Emergency Department, ICU, Med-Surg, NICU, PICU, and Women's Services is preferred
  • Scrubs are provided
  • Parking is free
  • First-time travelers are accepted
  • Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
  • Only one time-off request of 5 days or less permitted per 13-week assignment; no time off allowed for major holidays for Auto Offer positions
  • Must be willing to work 2 of the following 3 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's
  • Former Providence permanent staff must be separated for at least 3 months before returning as a travelers, and must reside outside the 50-mile radius
  • Travelers may work a maximum of 1 calendar year in this assignment before requiring a 6-month break before returning to the same facility
