Job Title: Cardiovascular Technologist Profession: Cardiovascular Technologist Specialty: Cardiac Cath Lab Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 10 Hours per Shift: 10 hours (7:00 AM - 5:30 PM) Experience: Minimum of two years' previous experience License: Active Radiologic Technologist license Certifications: ARRT(R) registration required; BLS and ACLS required Must-Have: Previous experience within Cath Lab; skill with Pacemakers; experience with Impella and IABP preferred Description: Responsibilities include assisting physicians with performing cardiology-related procedures. Procedures include diagnostic and therapeutic practices such as left heart cath, right heart cath, PCI, IABP insertion, pericardiocentesis, Swan-Ganz insertion, stress testing, and nuclear stress testing. Will function in multiple areas within cardiology, including Cath Lab, Stress Lab, and Nuclear Stress Lab. May take on a variety of roles such as radiology technologist, documenter, Stress Lab assistant, and Nuclear Stress Lab assistant. Requires knowledge typically gained through completion of two years of occupationally specific education or an Associate's degree in a related field. Previous experience in the Cath Lab and skills with Pacemakers are preferred. Experience with Impella and IABP is also preferred.
