Job Title: Cardiovascular Technologist Profession: Clinical Professional Specialty: Cardiovascular Duration: 13 Shift: 4-10 hr shifts during the week Hours per Shift: 0700-1730 Experience: Minimum Years of Experience: Not specified License: Registration from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT - R) and/or Registration from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (RCIS - Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist) Certifications: Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certification and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification within one year of employment Must-Have: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), BLS, Cath or IR experience, RCIS or ARRT Description: Provides procedural support to physicians. Includes hemodynamic, electrophysiologic monitoring, sterile technique, and radiologic support. Maintains a well-stocked and clean work environment. Understands general use of radiologic and monitoring equipment. Performs departmental functions within the electronic medical record system. Communicates with technical coordinator, material coordinator, or senior staff to maintain equipment and supply. Operates specialized equipment according to protocols. Assists physician in using specialized equipment during procedures. Attends vendor in-services to learn new equipment. Supports new technologies. Performs patient care appropriate to the patient population. Assists in transporting patients to and from the department. Performs appropriate patient care in a sterile environment under the guidance of the physician and nursing staff. Assists in other areas of cardiology as directed by management. Supports unit and departmental goals through performance improvement and educational activities. Attends mandatory in-services and meets departmental educational standards. Accurately completes any variance reports. Modifies behaviors or performance to comply with care standards and meets departmental requirements. Stocks and maintains departmental supplies. Performs environmental scrub downs to promote an aseptic environment. Assists in setting procedure rooms up each morning. Performs any other necessary functions as deemed necessary by management. Communicates with material coordinator concerning supply issues. Communicates concerning equipment issues and any other necessary matters. Exhibits independent judgment in planning the sequence of operations. Makes decisions in a complex technical or professional field. Works directly with patients and/or customers. Works with internal customers via telephone or face-to-face interaction. Engages with external customers via telephone or face-to-face interaction. Collaborates with other healthcare professionals and staff. Frequently interacts with individuals at the director level or above.
