Job Title: Cardiac Sonographer Profession: Allied Specialty: Cardiac Sonographer Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 8-hour Day Shift Hours per Shift: 40 hours, Monday through Friday, 7:45 AM - 4:45 PM with one hour for lunch Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Required certifications include BLS; RDCS (ARDMS) OR RCS or ACS (Advanced Cardiac Sonographer through CCI) Certifications: PALS (preferred), ACLS (preferred) Must-Have: Experience with 2D, Doppler, color flow, 3D, strain, and contrast studies. Stress echo skills and interventional procedures are preferred. IV management training is preferred. Description: The Cardiac Sonographer will be responsible for performing a variety of cardiac ultrasound examinations. This includes advanced transthoracic echocardiograms, transesophageal echocardiograms, stress echocardiograms, and dobutamine stress echocardiograms. Additional patient evaluations may involve heart failure and cardiac diagnostics, chemotherapy evaluations, and renal transplant evaluations. The role requires collaboration with a multidisciplinary team focused on providing high-quality patient care. Candidates should possess skills in EKG interpretation, stress testing, and IV management. Experience in mild sedation and cardioversion is preferred. The work environment is fast-paced and emphasizes a patient and family-centered approach. Support within the department includes a dedicated cardiac ultrasound educator and a chief sonographer, as well as a team of echo techs and other specialties. The technology and equipment used in the department include various ultrasound systems and EMR systems.
