Job Title: Cardiac Sonographer Profession: Allied Specialty: Radiology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 10-hour Day Shift Hours per Shift: 40 Experience: Minimum of 2 years of acute care Echo experience License: BLS Certifications: ARDMS-RDS or RDCSS Must-Have: Must be comfortable doing pediatric scans. Experience with a variety of patient types, including pediatrics and adults. Experience assisting with pericardiocentesis and other procedures. Ability to measure accurate ejection fractions. Fetal scan experience and stress test experience preferred. Comfortable with orienting new hires. Description: The Cardiac Sonographer will perform noninvasive diagnostic procedures. The role involves patient assessments and conducting echocardiograms for both inpatient and outpatient cases. The department serves a diverse patient population experiencing various cardiac conditions. Common diagnoses include congestive heart failure, pre and post catheterization, pre and post CABG, and more. The technician will support large structural programs and perform bubble studies, TEEs, and stress tests. The Cardiac Sonographer is expected to provide preliminary findings, which will be reviewed by a physician. The position includes collaboration with other Echo Technicians, Managers, Cardiologists, and Rapid Response teams. On-call duties may be required, typically one night per week with possible holiday call. The schedule follows a modified self-schedule approach with manager approval for requested days off.
