Job Title: Cardiac Sonographer Profession: Allied Specialty: Radiology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 10-hour Day Shift Hours per Shift: 40 Experience: Minimum of 2 years of acute care Echo experience License: Required Certifications: BLS, ARDMS-RDS or RDCSS Must-Have: Must be comfortable doing pediatric scans. Experience with various patient types and assisting with procedures such as pericardiocentesis. Ability to measure accurate ejection fractions. Fetal scan experience and stress test experience preferred. Willingness to support and orient new hires. Description: The Cardiac Sonographer will work within a fast-paced environment. This role involves providing echocardiograms for both inpatient and outpatient services. Common diagnoses include congestive heart failure, pre/post catheterization, and valve procedures. The sonographer will conduct preliminary findings and place them in a modifiable report for physician review. Interaction with a variety of patient populations, including pediatric and adult cases, is expected. Collaboration with other echotech staff, cardiologists, and rapid response teams is essential. The call schedule includes one night call shift per week, with potential call on major holidays. This position is a part of a modified self-scheduling system, allowing for some request flexibility. Support will be available from management and other technical staff during shifts.
