Job Title: Cardiac Sonographer Profession: Allied Specialty: Radiology Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 8 Hour Day Shift Hours per Shift: 40 Experience: Minimum of 2 years of Echo experience, with at least 1 year of acute experience. Will accept first-time travelers with 5+ years of acute experience, which can include some outpatient experience. License: BLS Certifications: ARDMS-RDCS or CCI Must-Have: - Competence in Stress, Strain, Contrast, Bubble Study, Stress Echo, pre-TAVRs, and TEEs. - Experience with the adult patient population and the ability to work independently. Description: We are seeking a skilled Cardiac Sonographer. The facility has 96 licensed beds and is not trauma designated. It is a teaching system but does not have residents. The location is a Primary Stroke Center. The unit features two dedicated rooms. Many exams are conducted portably. The average daily volume is around 16 patients divided between two Sonographers. The position requires 2 years of Echo experience, including 1 year of acute experience. First-time travelers with 5+ years of acute experience will be considered, including some outpatient experience. You will work with mostly adult patients, including inpatient, outpatient, and ER patients. You must be competent in various exams, including Stress, Strain, Contrast, Bubble Study, Stress Echo, pre-TAVRs, and TEEs. Additional support includes an Echo Technician Supervisor, an Assistant/Transporter, 24/7 RT, Hospitalist, and Rapid Response/Code Team. A Cardiologist will be on-site each morning for stress echoes and reachable by phone throughout the day. The facility uses EMR, preferably EPIC, and Philips Echo ultrasound equipment with a Philips Intellispace PACS system. Weekend rotation is typically not required, but you may be asked to work a Sunday with advance notice. There is no on-call requirement or holiday expectations. Shift times are typically 0700-1700. The manager is open to block scheduling if requested, though no guarantees can be made. Scrub color is black.
