Job Summary:
The ICU Cardiovascular Nurse is a specialized registered nurse position in the intensive care unit located in Towson, Maryland. This role involves providing high-level critical care to adult and geriatric patients with complex cardiovascular conditions, post-operative cardiac surgery patients, and other critical diagnoses. The position is scheduled for night shifts, offering a dynamic and challenging environment focused on patient stabilization and recovery.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week starting from 08/24/2026.
- Required Qualifications: Valid Maryland RN license, BLS (Basic Life Support), CPI (Calm Every Storm online certification), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support).
- Preferred Qualifications: 2 years of experience in intensive care or cardiovascular nursing, previous charge nurse experience, familiarity with Epic charting system, community hospital or LTAC experience preferred.
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI, NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale), OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse).
- Skills: Managing arterial lines, ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring, bedside procedures including central line care, ECMO management, patient assessment, and infusion titration in a cardiovascular ICU setting.
- Additional Information: Floating within scope to other units such as MSICU may be required. The unit cares for postoperative cardiac surgery patients including those with CABG, MVR, AVR, TAVR, and structural heart procedures. A patient census of 3-5 daily with a 1:2 nurse-patient ratio is typical. Support services include respiratory therapy, pharmacy, radiology, and rapid response teams.
