Job Title: Travel Cardiology Diagnostic Technician 3 – Emergency Services (Phlebotomy)

Location: Hyannis, MA

Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and adaptable Diagnostic Technician 3 to join a fast-paced Emergency Services team. This dual-specialty role combines expert specimen collection (phlebotomy) with non-invasive cardiology testing including EKGs, Holter monitors, and stress tests.

The ideal candidate will thrive in a high-pressure Emergency Room environment while delivering exceptional patient care and maintaining strong attention to detail.

Schedule Details:
• Evening Shift
• 36 Hours per Week
• 12-Hour Shifts | 11:00 AM – 11:30 PM
• Every Other Weekend Required
• Rotating Holidays Required

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Care & Diagnostics
• Perform venipuncture and collect clinical specimens accurately and safely
• Ensure positive patient identification and proper specimen handling procedures
• Perform EKGs, Holter Monitor setup, and Stress Tests according to departmental standards
• Support Emergency Room operations with rapid and efficient patient care
• Assist nursing units with specimen collection and technical support needs

Documentation & Operations
• Complete cardiac testing orders and required billing documentation accurately
• Maintain accurate patient records and testing information within hospital systems
• Ensure laboratory forms and documentation are completed correctly
• Maintain clean, organized, and sanitary testing/work areas
• Monitor inventory, restock supplies, and report equipment or supply concerns

Collaboration & Leadership
• Communicate workflow updates and technical issues with clinical teams and supervisors
• Train and mentor new staff members and students as assigned
• Participate in quality improvement and patient satisfaction initiatives
• Resolve specimen collection issues and support service recovery efforts when needed

Requirements:
• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
• Previous Emergency Room (ER) experience required
• Active Phlebotomy Certification (PBT) required
• Active EKG Certification required
• Current BLS Certification required
• Strong organizational, multitasking, and communication skills required
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced clinical environment required
