Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiac Telemetry/IMC position requiring 2+ years of cardiac tele experience and Level II trauma center experience.

Details

  • Cardiac IMC unit within a Magnet-designated, teaching, Level I Trauma Center hospital
  • Patient population includes cardiology (ACS, NSTEMI, HF management, pre/post cath care, arrhythmia management), EPS (pacemaker placement), cardiac surgery (CABG, valve replacement, TAVR), vascular surgery, and advanced heart failure/transplant cases
  • Patient ratio of 1:4
  • Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:00 AM), 36 hours per week
  • Weekend requirement of 4 shifts per month
  • No on-call requirements
  • Floating required within Acute Care/IMC scope, including to affiliate hospitals nearby
  • Uses Epic for charting
  • Uses safe patient mobilization equipment including ceiling lifts in most patient rooms

Requirements

  • Active RN license (Standard or Compact), OR license eligible for submission
  • Current certifications: BLS and ACLS required; BSN, NIHSS, and PCCN preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of cardiac telemetry experience required
  • Level II Trauma Center experience required; Level I Trauma Center experience preferred
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • Skills required include starting and maintaining IVs, sheath removal, TR band use, telemetry remote monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, use of rapid response/code teams, and management of cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration)
  • Preferred skills include heart transplant care, TAVR, VAD (LVAD/RVAD) management, PCA, and insulin drip titration
  • TAVR experience is a hard requirement
  • COVID vaccination proof required with no exemptions accepted

  • Provide comprehensive cardiac telemetry nursing care across a range of cardiology, cardiac surgery, vascular surgery, and advanced heart failure diagnoses
  • On-call provider coverage is available 24/7, with most care teams having an in-house provider around the clock
  • First-time travelers may be considered, though candidates without Epic experience should be carefully screened
  • Returning staff or former travelers at this facility must have a gap of 6+ months before returning
  • Local candidates are accepted at the same pay rate with no radius restriction
  • Scrubs of any color are accepted (no prints), and are provided
  • RTO requests must be submitted upfront and cannot exceed 2 weeks
  • Refusal to float as requested may result in contract cancellation
